logic pro will be fine. there is no daw exclusively for dubstep or even any better at making dubstep. its about how you use it.

you need to install all your vst in one folder then set that as your vst folder in logic. thats probably done in preferences or options or something but i am not to sure as i dont use logic myself.

hope that helps

Hello and welcome to DSF! :)

Both Garageband and Logic are perfect for making dubstep. Logic is more advanced, but Garageband is certainly capable of a few things by itself!

Luckily, Garageband projects intergrate directly into Logic, so you may want to start learning about music production in Garageband then move into Logic as your production skills & needs progress.

I am not to knowledgable about free mac plugins, but if you visited either a Garageband or Logic forum you would be able to find out more. Try googling 'free AU for mac' or 'free Audio Units' etc.

All of the main software developers produce mac versions of their software. It may also be possible to use a 'VST wrapper' so you can use freeware vsts in Logic.

Hope that helps! :)
