Clubroot on Mary Anne Hobbs BBC Experimental March 15th......
Yes, that's right, the official unveiling of the project/artist known as Clubroot cometh March 15th (Date edited below......), courtesy of the John Peel of our time, and saviour/saint of innovative music, Mary Anne Hobbs. When She was in San Francisco last month, we managed to get a bit of time with her to run down the new projects. One which really caught her attention was the aforementioned artist, who immediately was offered a program, to be presented along with material from Boxcutter and Jega.
We are anticipating release of the first material from Clubroot sometime in May, First as a full length CD, then as a few individual 12"s (featuring remixes), and then as a Vinyl LP, featuring an alternate mix of the majority of the tracks on the CD.
As for the program, it will feature a combination of material from the CD, from the vinyl releases, and a few things we only heard ourselves the other day when the mix was sent over. So even those following closely are in for some suprises.
Check it out here. If you are really eager, a quick fix can be found by listening to the "West Coast Rocks" show, or this weeks, as MAH played an early version of the track by Clubroot entitled "Sempiternal" on both occasions>>
