17/04 GLASGOW DMZ @ FORTIFIED GSA

The trio consisting of London's DMZ collective will hardly need an introduction to people who have left their houses in the past few years. For those of you who were born yesterday, DMZ are the authors of genre-defining classics within Dubstep and are partly responsible for creating the sound itself. DMZ's influence runs parallel to that of Tempa/FWD, with the label arm of DMZ showcasing the half-step innovations of Loefah and the stuttered mutant garage of Digital Mystikz that changed the face of break culture, while the DMZ club night encouraged a vibrant scene to emerge from it. Tracks like 'Root', 'Bury Da Bwoy', 'Horror Show', 'Neverland' and 'Left Leg Out' are staples in the bass diet, and DMZ show no signs of letting up anytime soon. For Fortified Sessions, the tried & tested trio of Loefah, Mala and MC St. Pokes will be in full-effect, bringing the sound thats wrecked discotheques the world over. Indeed, on DMZ's last visit visit to sunny Scotland they worked up such a frenzy that the crowd practically destroyed Mungos Hi Fi's big shack thing. The evenings proceedings will be funnelled through a 30k Bass Warrior rig just incase you were thinking about leaving anatomically intact. Plus, being the purveyors of excellence that we are, we've snagged an exclusive showing of the dubstep documentary 'Bassweight', which will be screened at the CCA at 8pm, which you will be able to go for FREE if you purchase a 10 quid ticket for the DMZ Fortified special from the CCA.

Please note, that if you want to attend the screening of the movie film, you HAVE to buy your ticket from CCA. They will be on sale tomorrow from there, only tickets 1 to 70 will get to see the doc.

Grabbed my ticket for this yesterday, Mala put on a crackin show for Mungo's back in November so this should be a good one!

Btw, any chance of replicating the speaker setup they had for that show? It was upstairs in GSA and they had one set of bins right of the stage, then another set back left of the dancefloor directly opposite, making a wall of bass across the dancefloor - it was class :D
