thanks lowkey, Roistermusic.

RE: the synth, your right. I have not done anything with it really yet. I only added it quickly once i got the sound i kind of happy with.

Thanks for listening.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Legendary: I had to check yours out after you said ‘dark’ and som1 else said it sounds empty. That is just what I am on right now. I think the tune went on a bit long without many changes and I think it would make a nice intro to a track but instead of 3 mins, more like 1.5 mins and then some kind of drop. Not much of a melody (like my music) but that could be your style.

Here is what I have done this week. I am total noob but I would love to hear some criticism!

Same file, two hosts.

Safe for the input, it IS a intro.. Working on a album atm.. I did say its a WIP though hehe.. Working on a bit more now ive had a week away from home due to creative block! Thanks though.

About your tune.

The drop didn't really have that big burst what hits you or that subtle drop what makes you groove to it, it just kinda popped out of no where.. The main synth was nice, it bounced a long nicely and the snare was great although I couldn't help but think it needed more snap around the 200-500hz area whats natural (No verb) so it gives it more punch.. Other than that its a great tune.

never really get any love or hate in the dubs section, really curious as to what people think of my stuff.

have 8 more I have finished, working on them daily, tweaking them out, these are some older ones, but still indicative of my style(or lack thereof?)

Id like some more feedback on the tune called 'bits':-

www.myspace.com/roistermusic

something a bit different...(dont watch the mix!!)
Thanks man :)

I really enjoyed 'bits', nice clean eqing, nice use of space in the track. I wanted to fault the cym/snare on the third and say it was a bit quiet but the more i listened to it the better it sounded :)

Edit: feeling terrorised dub too - i'd probably like it a bit more if the samples in the background were a little bit louder? (the bleeps and stuff)

Liking long island.. perhaps you could throw some pads in there to fill a bit of the mid frequencies between the bass+drum and the lead stringy stuff?

Liking the melodic sounds - especially the ambient stuff dude.

Considered chucking the ambient stuff over some if the minimal dubs? :D

Ok, so I wanted to try and first my first tune before moving onto anything else, but i was playing with some synths this evening and had a tune stuck in my head, so decided to have a go at making something new.

It's a remix of Kosheens Hide U tune. Its only my second tune done in one evening, so I know I've got a lot to work on, but I was just wondering on what peoples feel was on this.

I will finish that other tune though and show once it's finished!!

Peace

a heads up, this was before i knew how to master my shit and before i figured out you get a better range by using a mixer for every set of instruments in reason... V3 i think.

I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE SOME FEEDBACK..SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT MAKING DUBSTEP TRACK...

I MAINLY PRODUCE HIP HOP TRACKS AND RECENTLY GOT INTO DUBSTEP SO IF YOU WOULD BE SO KIND TO GIVE IT A LISTEN IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Fatty Knuckles:-
Yeah man, i like this tune...loads of space and freedom..as nova.k said - a bit more layering (the the kick esp.) and youve got a nice track.

Pess86:-
I like the dubstep track man, pretty original and i like the under synth...but for me, that 'anywhere but here' tune is a banger..proper my style of hip-hop, sample heavy- nu skool premier!..keep it up

Prime:Evil:-
I like the idea but i think, like you said, it needs work..you need to get some perc in there and maybe make the synth move around a bit...post it up again when its finished

I got a new tune called 'Faint' - would like some opinions

www.myspace.com/roistermusic

kinda chilled/melodic - still a Work in Progress tho

Cheers

sound
new tune "Hopskotch" to be found on myspace
is not dubstep, is minimal house
but anyone who is willing to listen that'd be excellent :)

EDIT: Roister- "Faint" is dark as fuck :)
loving that sub, and the atmosphere is heavy

i would say that the beat could do with being progressed a bit more, and the ending could be stretched out a bit

but this is definitely a good one!

That synth at the start sounds well familiar :D is that a preset or a sample?

Nice sounds but I was waiting for it to drop or some rhythm to start. Sounds like a break in a track to me.
