you're doing more to build hype around this than anybody else on the forum - you've managed to pick a new argument on almost every page.
i can't believe this has made it to 20+ pages...its an ok track, nothing more. it's a very big deal when an international artist decides to hop on something like this, but i doubt its going to lead to the implosion of the dubstep scene as everybody scrambles to get their productions on the next rich boy album. the media will lap it up, and dubstep will probably be flavour of the year in 2009. what'll happen then? it'll go back to where it was in 2008, probably. a genre with a lot of potential, and a hard core of fans who mainly enjoy bitching about every single publicity related thing that anybody affiliated with the scene ever does.

That was "Return of the Boys", the original being "Mundiah To Bach Ke" by Panjabi MC. I liked both of em.

Does anyone fancy summarising in around 100 words? I don't have time to read all 26 pages.

Someone played Snoop some dubstep, Snoop liked it so much that he rapped over Eastern Jam. Dubstep forum users split between thinking this was a big push for the community, or a slap in the face of the community.
Also, more big-name rappers to be rapping over dubstep is promised in the near future.

Aftee wrote:trust me, people are hearing this outside of the dubstep world..and nobody else will know that this was originally already a track on its own if they don't listen to dubstep...therefore the "wild animals" promotion comes into play
also chances of making it on his album
nothing new, nothing creative, shit and promotion/marketing
Seriously..the only reason it's hyped up is because it's snoop dogg...so?
I've heard everything from rap to pop on dubstep tracks, some good and some bad
some amazing and some shitty (perfect example is right here)
the fact that he recorded over this beat exclusively FOR this beat doesn't really matter
hyped by fame, nothing else
hi, you are a prick

Cheers mate.
I can now insert my two cents.
HE'S NOT THE ONLY ONE!
I spoke to Hank Shocklee of The Bomb Squad (Public Enemy) nearly 3 years ago about dubstep and he MCed on my set, he was already well clued up and a big fan. I'm pretty sure it's been an influence on his work since then.
Also, as you may know, The Beastie Boys have named 'Lion's Paw' by Rogue State in Aprils Q Magazine as one of ten influences in their new album 'Tadlock's Glasses'.
Although Snoop is well significant, perhaps more than previous hip-hop heads, it's not a bad thing. Don't be scared, it's a sign of how far the beats have gone.

i actually like it. it's been stuck in my head since yesterday...
i can't help thinking that most people here, if offered the chance to work with snoop would jump at the chance. just a thought...
fair play to those involved in this project, and i've gotta second the notion that this needs to happen with a Joker track!
anyway, i'm outta here before i get shot down for supporting the 'death' of dubstep
