Throbbing Gristle are playing in April. Not that they're noise artists or anything, but I've yet to see them live. I hear they're shit, and a scratch on the 1980 phase.

1980 was already too late for Gristle

for some reason,i find it really relaxing to listen to merzbow quietly

i was listening to ghoul detail awhile ago, kinda noise/ambient

if you like guitar noise the sonic youth album called "silver session for jason knuth" and there was a thurston moore noise album last year called sensitive/lethal that was ok, lee ranaldo also did a one side 12" with a sick etching on the other side http://www.boomkat.com/item.cfm?id=116609

The only artist worth mentioning these days is Prurient. Everything else pales in my opinion.

You can't beat a bit of classic Sutcliffe Jugend or Hijokaidan though.

I had the pleasure of seeing Hijokaidan and Sun City Girls back to back a few years ago. Best gig I've ever been to.

Venetian Snares is not a noise producer by the way. His breakcore tunes have elements of noise in them, and the tracks he made with DJ Speedranch are not noise either. Not that it really matters...I'm just being pedantic
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

Managed to get a hold of the Merzbox. Gotta say, I'm not really into his old analogue-instrumental stuff.

When did Merzbow first start producing, though? Alot of shit sounds old as hell on this thing.

This thing sells for a fucking extortionate amount, also. So glad I didn't do the mother of all fanboy things and shell out the full £500 for it way back when.

I'm a merzbow fan tbh. His latest releases are nice with the drums in it.

I'm happy I saw him once live 2 years ago @ the Dour festival in Belgium.
