Eleven Tigers goes through various artistic phases in order to reflect upon the changes and imbalances of the world. The current state he occupies is universal and broad dubstep music which is used as a fundamental platform to play around the sound. Influenced by Burial, Eleven Tigers went to explore the atmosphere and the ambience of London metropolis, current home of the artist. Here, he studies music technology and does all sorts of activities he never thought to embrace.
Bristol based DJ/ producer Hyetal first discovered dubstep via the sounds of early grime music in 2005. After taking an influential pilgrimage to DMZ later that year, he locked himself away in his studio forging a unique style equally as informed by a childhood love of Sega Megadrive, 80s horror films and Hip–Hop as it was by Digital Mystikz, Pinch and Kode 9. Currently a resident at monthly Bristol club night Season Five, his sets have become known for a mix of deeper experimental sounds and fresh dance floor bangers. His own productions have gained support from some of the scenes biggest names, leading to frequent airplay on Mary Anne Hobbs radio 1 show. Hyetal’s debut release, ‘The Last Time We Spoke’ and ‘Armour’ are due for release on American Label Formant Recordings in March. With the majority of his beats now signed to various labels more tracks will be scheduled for release later in the year.
eff. D aka Effiks – an eclectic DJ with music roots in the student radio TLIS, Bratislava. He has been working as a vinyl seller in NOTAPE shop. Currently, this “beatologist” of various musical shapes is refining his new and old alter ego eff.D. During his MOSH-set you'll hear some of the newest tunes and also his experimental-dubstep favorites from Planet Mu, Storming, Audio Freaks as well as some classics from Tempa, Hyperdub or dubsteptech pieces of 7even records, Tube, Apple pips, Tectonic and so... Like he says, “No borders to punk and funk!”
Profesor Z realized that dead-pessimistic sound of broken&dub step is not just of an urban individual's expression of alienation from his natural environment but also a soundtrack to the current economic crisis. Moreover, he sees dubstep as an ultimate outcry of hard-to-define emotions and desires in Eastern European and Balkan soul. In his sets, he therefore tries to spread the psychotherapeutic sub bass potential, adjust the vibrations to resonant frequencies of the deep feelings and desires leading to their release from subconsciousness. Thus the potential of each vibe-tribe member reaches a higher level of self-awareness and freedom.
Stroon, aka struna, is a former music editor of the student radio TLIS Bratislava, vibes player, Buddhist-neurotic and pseudo-DJ with rare inclinations towards composing and producing. He is completely lost in music directions, but is occasionally able to find the right way. This will definitely happen at the the first MOSH party, where he'll play dubstep tracks which he considers worth listening and dancing to.
3 things I miss most from the UK... swede, cider and the music scene!
