Ed Berry A.K.A. Seven / Eddy Woo

Ed’s musical journey started in the late eighty's in London U.K. through learning the art of mixing and locking his first DJ set at the ripe old age of 13.

It was shortly after this, a brief encounter with Shimon and Andy C influenced Ed to steer down the production path. Initially in 1995 he released a three track E.P on Dubtronix Records under the guise of DJ Reflex. Throughout the following years Ed built a studio and honed both his production & DJ skills.

In mid 2003 High Lite Recordings released Tsunami setting the ball rolling for a busy release schedule that has spanned the last five years. Alongside High Lite Recordings, Ed, under the moniker Eddy Woo, signed releases to Frequency, Generation X, Liquid V & Bad Company. Furthermore Eddy Woo productions were common place on top shelf DJ mix CD’s, including Andy C’s ‘Nightlife’ and Bad Company’s ‘Bad Taste’ series.

At the beginning of 2007 Ed started his own imprint, Subculture Records to showcase high calibre future thinking Drum & Bass. 2007 also saw Ed expand and develop his production techniques, eventually leaning towards a more down tempo sound.

Under the pseudonym of Seven his productions were let loose onto the Dubstep scene with air play from Mary Anne Hobbs aswell as being on high rotation during many Rinse FM sets. Most importantly his productions became a major component in many a set from DJ’s Ntype & Youngsta, through to Benga & Skream.

To kick of 2009 'Siren’, ‘Drop’ and ‘The Darkness’ were released on Tempa and Australia’s Aquatic Lab imprints respectively. With forthcoming material on Shy Fx’s Digital Soundboy, another release on Aquatic Lab, not too mention a covert signing to Chase & Status’s brand new label things are certainly shaping up for one of London’s most sought after producer / DJ talents.

Andy C……. “I don’t know another DJ in the industry who practises as much as Eddy Woo”
