Chest boxing was the tune that did it for me.....everytime! And that duppy/request line refix that plastic played - large! I think what made it so good was that it was 4 different styles, which made the build up to N-Type that much bigger, and fuck me, he didnt disappoint!
Big up plastician for busting some grimbal vibes, eskimo was sick.

You got it well going mate. Everyone i was with were losing it to your set. It was a well structured night. I started BROCKING OUT to you and then i lost itPlasticman wrote:Very much enjoyed last night
N Type pretty much played a set which you could call "THE A-Z" of dubstep at this moment in time
Really great set from him - best I've heard him play.
Quick mixing, back to back bangers - can't fault the man!
Great crowd there last night - good energy - the most fun I've had playing in ages and i didn't even use serato!

what a night.....!!!!
plastician back on the wax and mixing as nasty as he ever has! one of the best in the game IMO.....drawing for some old stuff too, goes to show it doesn't matter WHEN tune are from if they are bangers!
continuing that theme, it was amazing to see El-b rock the house with 5 plus year old tunes! so good that the dancefloor responded, would've been a gutter if peeps had not felt it....too many tunes, so many i've passed up on SO many times! now i'm on an el-b mission! ebay watch out!
N-Type, well what more can be said....he just smakced it.... The energy levels were stupendous...i have to say the last 2 FWDs have been amongst the best vibe EVER down there, as long as i've been going, and thats a fair while!
its such a special vibe down there...so nice seein all the faces, the old, the new, proper scene heads from day, el-b, j da, jason h, tubby, meeting ironsoul and benga properly at last, chattin to deapoh for time out the back!
the dramas that unfold around the decks and dancefloor of FWD>> are truly unique, its utterly a way of life, and something i am truly humbled and honoured to contribute to, in whatever small way i can....
sorry, ranting on, but seriously folks, i could write an essay on some the mad scenes u see at FWD>>! *don't worry i won't!*
out to selom, ade, the bar staff, the doormen, amy and sarah for makin it possible innit....and big up ALL crew past and present...
u could see it when Viper was down the front the other week..this is a guy whose life was garage...one of the true oldskool mcs, and his face was just twisted in delight at the blines and riddims that were getting unleashed! its cool to see freah ears getting into it, coz u can get too used to it innit, sometimes its cool to step back and just go WOW! the power in this music...its insane!

yeh night was heavy, took some mates who had never heard dubstep before and they loved it! they werent feeling the el-b set as much and were a bit confused by the ridiculous amount of rewinds (every other tune at the start of n-types set) but it was all good...
place was packed, people outside gettin denied acess...
first time id been, glad 2 hear it was one of the best

???formula wrote:i dont think dat this fwd was all that far to much grime and then they put n-type on last so you had chill all nite listening to grime only to hear one dubstep set. it should be dubstep all da way long for da grime
El-B??? GRIME???
I think you're narrowing your dubstep boundaries a little too much. As far as grime goes I was the only DJ to play any that night and even my set was more than 50% dubstep including some tracks which helpled shape the scene.
Diversity in sound is what makes FWD the night it is today. 3 years ago a club full of attitudes like yours would have killed the night off. Luckily there are a lot more open minded people in the community now and we're able to push things forward.
You can't have an entire night of wobbly basslines - if thats how you are pigeonholing what you believe to be dubstep. I'm not sure how long you've been listening to dubstep but the music El-B played was pretty much THE sound which made dubstep what it is today.
Sorry to get on my soapbox - everyone's entitled to an opinion, I just wanted to share mine.
Having been going to FWD>> not even as a DJ but for a punter since the very first night it happened, I think its at its healthiest point ever right now - and I'm sure anyone else in my boat would agree that things are definitely moving forward right now. Getting anal about what is and isn't allowed to be played there would take us back to the days when Hatcha got caned on dubplate net forum for playing too many Benga tunes - in those days it was labelled "8 bar" and the purists got very silly about it. Imagine today's scene without Benga?? Its a ridiculous attitude to have, just let the experimental sounds nurture themselves and let the DJ's express themselves and we'll be in for a very interesting movement.
I hope i'm not chatting shit - I just get heated when I see comments like that. I thought we moved away from that argument a good 3 years ago![/b]
