Good interview, legend.
EL -B interview
I'm a bit confused about this in honesty, dubstep has got a lot of different avenues and is no more predictable than 2-step garage. Also Noodles was putting out a lot of standard sounding dubstep on DPR digital recentlyJoe Muggs wrote:The vibe I got from him, much as with Noodles when I interviewed him, is that they find dubstep a bit predictable but want to take it somewhere new with their productions and collaborations...
Yeah if El-B or DPR are seeking to take dubstep somewhere new then, I'm afraid, they're failing pretty dramatically. Also, is it a coincidence that most recent dubstep stuff from Horsepower (that Kuma remix aside) and Zed Bias has been relatively underwhelming?hopper wrote:I'm a bit confused about this in honesty, dubstep has got a lot of different avenues and is no more predictable than 2-step garage. Don't get me wrong though, I've got nothing but love for those guys' old stuff. Absolutely legendary
I'd say a lot of the DPR were pretty damn fresh, especially the Dubchild and Daega! And a lot of the recent El-B and Roxy tracks have been next level at least as far as production goes...Badga Tek wrote: if El-B or DPR are seeking to take dubstep somewhere new then, I'm afraid, they're failing pretty dramatically. y

That Dubchild EP is fucking sick, dark RnB garagestep.....Badga Tek wrote:Yeah if El-B or DPR are seeking to take dubstep somewhere new then, I'm afraid, they're failing pretty dramatically. the vibe i got from him is that he finds dubstep too dark and hard. he felt like that in 2003 - hence why he left - and the current state of screaming heavy metal wobble isn't likely to change his mind!Joe Muggs wrote:The vibe I got from him, much as with Noodles when I interviewed him, is that they find dubstep a bit predictable but want to take it somewhere new with their productions and collaborations...

Each to their own, etc. Didn't seem anything special to me at all, especially in light of their very illustrious pasts
misquoting me! how could you?spooKs wrote:Joe Muggs wrote:Badga Tek wrote:That Dubchild EP is fucking sick, dark RnB garagestep.....hopper wrote:I'd say a lot of the DPR were pretty damn fresh, especially the Dubchild and Daega!
