Post by emosmessiah » Sat Mar 28, 2009 10:02 pm

Well i've just started mixing DnB and dubstep. never mixed before and i just cant get it right. if i uploaded a few tracks would someone be able to give me some pointers? Also can someone recommend some good tracks for beginners, at the minute i'm using early Pendulum, High Contrast and some T.C., B.S.E, Benga, Caspa, Rusko, Clue Kid, Skream.

Can't really tell cos it sounds really compressed, but are you turning the bass down (off if your mix has this option) on the mixer of the track your mixing in, can't have 2 basslines running at the same time.

are you mixing using software? CDJS? Vinyl?

right then since your using traktor you really need to learn about proper mix composition.. you need to know your tunes, when the breakdowns are, when the drops are, how long to leave a track in the mix, when to start mixing a new track in, everything happens in 4/8/16/32 bar seqments

so goto the mixes section and download some and LISTEN to what the dj is doing

then get yourself a hair cut :6:

yeah this shows definitely, it's the first thought i had when i heard it.

IMO invest in some decks, CDJs or Serato Scratch live.
