Half Priced Books by me has a vinyl section. I usually pull about a half dozen old albums out of the dollar section everytime I go. The vinyl is almost always in mint never listened to style. I'd say that was a pretty good deal.

I also got my copy of the Amen Brother 45 for like 12 dollars from a huge record store around my way. That is probably what it is worth to most people but at the time it was going on ebay for like 60 bucks.

Found lot's of classic dnb records off of friends for a dollar a piece or 50 bucks for a crate and shit. It's about the only way I get records anymore is if they are dirt cheap.

not a rare purchase, but the first electronic music record i bought was Hive - Neo/Gemeni, and i think i got it for $2.50. not bad for a first purchase either.

oh, and in general, its cheaper for me to get records delivered to my door from chemical than it is to go downtown and buy them from a store. about $10 on chemical, 12-14 downtown, plus gas. so, go chemical! (and redeye!)

You do realize you are supporting the demise of local vinyl retailers don't you? We had 3 stores in Pittsburgh 5 years ago. None now. I wish I had a place like that to go to. I would gladly pay the extra dollar or two for the privilege. That said Redeye and Chemical are good companies and thank god since I don't have a choice but to buy from them now.

theres only been one store in sacramento to carry dubstep or dnb, and their selection sucked as it is. so its not my fault i dont buy records from them. any time im in SF i always buy records at Amoeba though.

BTW I am not trying to flame you or anything, I'm just sayin'. But have you ever gone and talked to the guy ordering? I used to go into my store and pick out the records I wanted before they put their order in so I could get what I wanted and I would always end up with stuff that was impossible to find on chem or redeye because they would sell out so fast. It's a good possibility that they are dicks and won't work with you but it's worth a shot.

Once I got about 35 old school dubstep and dark garage records for 50 quid. Sounds good doesn't it? Well, imagine that, but among them was DMZ001 + DMZ002, both Horsepower LPs, shitloads of proto-dubstep like Oris Jay, Nude, early Distance, Toasty, etc etc etc etc.....can you imagine?
