Drugs & Dubstep
Dubstep is just about the only style of music (save for maybe Jungle) that can keep me going until 6am with no stimulants....

I usually take MD cos I started out as a techno head, and me and my mates Have a once every 2 months tradition. But I think when it come to dubstep, MDMA does not necessarily improve listening quality.
Fuck, when I went to East Village, I was so high I had a panic attack, and I blame that on the combi of MD and dubstep. Dont mix your drugs

mixing and mdma doesn't really go well imo, did it at the weekend with my mate and ended up just playing the records and listening instead

Probably, but if so it's not specific to dubstep. You can say the same about any style of music. It's great to get out of your head occasionally but a shame to get in the habit of always connecting dancing to music with taking drugs. MDMA etc makes you more easily pleased and expect less from the music. It's much nicer to get euphoric just from sharing good music with good people.mua08jlc wrote:in that case... would you agree that once you get in the habit of going to dubstep nights on mdma, its difficult to have a better night without it?
It can get to the stage where you're more excited about getting high than you are the music or social side of it. You don't ever want to get to the stage where a night is ruined before you've even got to the club because you can't get the right drugs.
Hit that long lunar note and let it float ...

it's called sass or sassafras around here. it's also almost always referenced as MDA but i think it is really supposed to be shorthanded as MDAA. it's like rolling but trippier and fun. i've also tried MDEA, which is alot more visual and not so lovey...it's also not supposed to go up your nose...AT ALL. haha. e pills get cut with this random MDXX stuff sometimes toogonzales246 wrote:what's mdaa?? we don't get that here.. sounds good!hubsmoke wrote:acid, acid + mdma, or mdaa
for me acid and mdaa make music sound better, while mdma just makes my mind swirl around and implode and dance
none of that is bad though
but you know, fuck drugs, totally not worth the cash or risk
i dont think mdma necessarily mixes with dub step. there is no doubt being off your twat will probably heighten the enjoyment of a night out, but lets face it you could probably drop a bomb, go to cream, and come out thinking it was the best thing since tinned pineapple. which, coincidentally, it very much isnt. and i dont even like pineapples.
maybe creams a bad example but you catch my drift?
ultimately, drugs are bad, and the 'erb is included in that, but as someone said earlier in this topic, i'd much rather have a smoke and a few cold ones then float around the music, especially at a 'dub step' night, rather than sweat my noggin off, chew my face to pieces, then feel like shite for a week after. i went to bloc t'other weekend, and i dont really do 'drugs' apart from the green one these days. i had a bit of mandy pandy on the saturday and promptly felt like my life was a mess for the week after. unfortunately that is probably down to my own previous excesses, but for that very reason its just no no no.

i gotta agree that dubstep is one genre that definately gives me a really good natural high and i think its that positive energy that actually keeps it slightly less drug fuelled, cos the music and the bassweight does quite a lot for people by itself.
some interesting comments on here bout mdma tho...
between them i think most positive and negative effects of mdma have been covered.
i only started doin mdma within the past year and ive only done it a handful of times (roughly lol). theres been times where ive felt it can cloud the impression of the music and/or have your mind focusing on lots of other things insted of the music...but ive also had some of the best experiences with the music and great memories from those moments of clarity ive got. i remembered mixes and tunes just as well as i would of had i not been on it.
mdma can work well at dubstep and any dance music nights. i think its just like any other drug tho, has its undesirables (gurning n lookin a bit mash up) and its only good in moderation. the definition of moderation is always subjective tho depending on the person. for me i find occasionally its gd but can become watered down with frequent use. its nt essential and i dont do it every rave.

in general...some booze and some ganj and its all good. winning combo everytime. ive gotta work on my balance tho, i underestimate my ability to drink and over estimate my ability to smoke which results in me zonked at the end of some nights.

I got busted on some shitty posession charge at a Loefah gig once, that was definitely not a posotive experience....went home afterwards and smoked my woes away...almost dived into a full 50 to myself, such a waste...
i actually found that my mixing was sharpened on MDMA, the one and only time ive dj-ed out i had 1/4g before i went up and i was getting proper into the mix. ended up playing a ravey as set but what can you expect really?hibbie05 wrote:mixing and mdma doesn't really go well imo, did it at the weekend with my mate and ended up just playing the records and listening instead
the only problem i have with smoking weed on a night out is the paranoia getting in it, smokin on the sly, and most of all goin around public transport carrying it, with them sniffer dogs fairly often kicking around at stations
I personally think it makes it different in a good way... so i voted yes. But it is not a necessity. if it's the right vibe it can be really cool. Otherwise the music is enuff.

mdma is alright but so predictable, gets fucking boring after a while (like your first few times on it really) unless you do it with other drugs. often makes you feel fucking awful for about 4 days after too, not really worth it imo.
i've noticed theres a lot of ket-heads into dubstep. dont get it myself, kets a fucking rubbish drug.
if you want good music drugs, you want psychedelics really - acid, mushrooms, that kind of stuff. my favorite at the moment is probably 4-aco-dmt - fucking sick stuff. the main problem with psyches is that they're not very rave-friendly, so thats where boshing a bit of mdma might help out.
