More dubstep on Spotify!

Post by dermike » Wed Apr 01, 2009 3:28 pm

Just thought I'd let the Spotify users know that most of the Redvolume catalogue is now up. Created a playlist for it here

Matt-U / Cardopusher - Mute Soul / Parrilla
VA - Redvolume Catalogue Part One (On sale at Chemical btw!)
L-Wiz / Subeena / Faib - Must / Transient / Broken Mirror

The rest will be added as soon as possible..

What other dubstep have you found?

Box of Dub Vol 1
Box Of Dub 2

My mate showed me Spotify yesterday and I was horrified! Not gonna do much for the record labels or artists. Buy the records if you love the music

Agreed.

I mean how exactly does this website work? Is it just like youtube without the videos? Or do the labels actually get paid and the website makes money from ads?

Enlighten me please.

Just downloaded it. It seems alright, there doesn't seem to be a way of actualy saving the files so it's still better to buy the release.

Spotify pays licensing money to offer their music there.

Yeah, both labels and artists get paid from Spotify, as long as the artists are registered with PRS.

Eesti Dubstep up as well. :)

its a really clever idea of how it works actually. uses p2p technology for streaming the songs, so thats why its so quick. The adverts fund the licence fees charaged by mcps and then that money is distributed out to the artists in royalties. I'd say kudos to the makers and more dubstep on there!

After looking into this Spotify I would say it looks great for artists that are registered with the PRS.

Listen people, if the track is actually on Spotify you CAN STREAM IT FREE!!! (yes that is FREE)

Very easy to sign-up and registered too, The software is pretty cool. Great way to listen to a track before you go buy it (much better that a shitty little clip on most sites)

SEE THIS -

When you downloaded the player check out my EP on Redvolume here -

Ive never really got last fm to be honest. Ive been having a play with this tho and you can creat a playlist snd let it go so its like radio without all the bullshit talking and adverts every 2.34 minutes.

Just listening to Hotel California at the mo and just been listening to some Nirvana and dubstep.

Amazing what they can do these days innit! Or you could just listen to a decent radio station like rinse.fm or sub.fm. Mind you you wont hear many Eagles tracks on there;)
