Anyone using old powerbooks?

Post by unilynx » Wed Apr 01, 2009 6:30 pm

I'm considering buying a Powerbook from a guy and it has a little over a gb for ram and 1.25ghz G4 cpu. Would this be decent enough speed for Reason and Ableton? Just curious because I'm switching from PC and was wondering how the speed would be..

how much are you buying it for.. Abelton you will able to run like 6 tracks prob.. I got a g4 with g of ram 1.5 processor powerbook..depends how much it cost though.. Forget about running massive either it will glitch out on you.. The new macbooks are like a grand for a 13 inch. u might just want to spring for a new one.. You don't know if he has dropped or done other vile things to it.. Although, I know a lot of producers that are using using superfast pc laptops great..I have a mac mini for studio purposes. I use the 13 inch to dj with at gigs.
