Depends on the style &/or what mood im in. But...
1) Shuffle (I love beats with a nice shuffle on them)
2) Hidden elements (beeps/squeeks/scratches that you dont notice until you listen to the tune high/on a real clear system)
3) Hearing a sample that sounds really well placed, But you just can't for the life of you, remember where you'v heard it from. (& then you realise when you watch the film or whatever & it clicks.)

Nods to the old school like subtle hints from yesteryears electronic sound palette thrown in and reinterpreted.
Lush pad sounds that swirl and change sublimely and simply such that you dont even mind that they're endlessly repeated thru the whole tune.
Rolling sine waves that serve to accentuate a moody undercurrent of kidney rattling bass.
Drum fills. The bits that signal a change up or down in a tune rather than just a looped backbeat.
Tinkly melodies over chord progressions and smatterings of processed vocals
hmm...i think i need to learn how to count again
