Best places to send your dubs??
If you've got a dub and you think it's decent, who, where or what are the best places to send it to, in order for it to have at least a fair chance of being listened to or played??
To quote the man above, the people who play the sort of sound you're making. Ive added plenty of people on AIM, saying how I like their work and if its cool to pass on a few tunes for some feedback, nothing but open arms.Fitz wrote:Ya, but I mean most of them probably don't have time to listen to everything they get sent....I was thinking more about online radio shows, small independent labels who might take a listen etc.??adisize wrote:DJs who play the type of tune you've made?

Fair enough. Is it a complete waste of time sending them to labels, or is it worth a try??
Worth a try, just think - if you know you can do better, just try and get a bit of air play / a bit of buzz and make sure you're confident the tunes are as best as you can get before you send to labels who you respect and such.Fitz wrote:Legendary wrote:To quote the man above, the people who play the sort of sound you're making. It's worth it but try to get AIM. It's not that hard to do most label owners are down to earth like me and you. Since I am one now I should know that! But that way it allows you to strike up a little chit chat while you are sending your tunes down. If they like you they are more likely to consider you tunes. It also be uncomfortable for both if you send shite, so don't do that. Make sure your shit is tight. But tbh the best place to start is the old dub sectionFitz wrote:Legendary wrote:To quote the man above, the people who play the sort of sound you're making. Lastly send your dubs to me!
Course it does, loads of DJs play medi stuff, I know Shambles @ dubstepfm loves a good mellow set.. I heard medi all the time on subfm.nowaysj wrote:Good advice, but a q.
What if you're making chin stroking or more deep medi ds?
DJ's as distribution channels doesn't really work?
Not to much rinse but there is a market for it..

I wouldn't say that it doesn't work but you might have to be extra selective and really do your homework on who supports that stuff. I don't think deep sells all that well either so it's tough finding labels willing to invest in it. Tough gig all around for the deep guys.nowaysj wrote:Good advice, but a q.

*ehem* To who exactly? I am still trying to figure that one out man. It's still sitting here on my hard drive.FSTZ wrote:just 2 at the moabZ wrote:FSTZ wrote:abZ wrote:Lastly send your dubs to me!

Fair enough. Is it a complete waste of time sending them to labels, or is it worth a try??Get them out to DJ's especially the internet dj's. And do ego searches and see where your tunes are popping up on tracklists, get your tunes to those dj's first, you already have their attention! If no one is playing them then you might consider woodshedding a bit longer.
Lastly send your dubs to me!
Nice one man, sound advice there n' will have a dub for you next wk, which I feel (and hope) is pretty tight
