Post by cained & able » Mon Apr 06, 2009 12:52 pm

Hey everyone,

Well this is my first attempt at making a tuna, it's not strickly dub but heavtly influenced by, along with mr scruff, lemon jelly, nightmares on wax....dont let that fool you its nothing like that good, but would be nice to hear some feedback.

Have a listen and let me know, hopefully i'll learn something.

And please remember this is my first time, so be gentle.

Peace.

easy,
the percussion sounds pretty good, the synths have a good ambient feel. dunno what tempo u made it at but sounds slower than 140 to me but this fits the tune. is there a bassline? i can't tell on the headphones i'm playing the song on. boost the low frequencies so the bass stands out more. and hi pass the kick so the two don't clash.

Anyway sounds tight for a first tune, not sure if its dubstep but good music is good music at the end of the day. :)

Hey man,

thanks for the feedback, i do appriciate it.

And yeah, well spootted, theres no base line. Im running three oscilators on the synth, ones about -24 and i was wondering if i could get away with no bass.....but i think it really needs something deep....

Having some difficulty making a nice, smooth sub-bass though, but there are some good tips in the stickies.

thanks again...i'll have to work on this a little more but will post again when its done.

mate everything sounds nice and crisp so thumbs up there. like the geezer above said this probably isn't dubstep, i'd say its more akin to your influences than that. but then again, with a nice deep bassline an a notch on the tempo then you never know.

anyways, good sheet
