Artists similar to Breakage?

Post by blob » Wed Apr 15, 2009 2:34 pm

Hi folks

Are there any artists who make music similar to Breakage? I absolutely love his style - whether it be his new dubstep or stuff from his album 'this too shall pass'.

I heard a mix from Kryptic Minds not long ago and thought these guys are sort of similar - slow, spacy type dubstep with a lot of atmosphere.

So any suggestions?

On an off-topic yet related point, if you're not familiar with it, listen to Breakage's back catalogue of drum & bass. He's one of its best producers. His remixes of 'Acid Rain' by Equinox for instance are immense (my favourite is the Century 47 remix that came out on Inperspective).

Synkro and L-ow are a little underrated. there's an amazing tune by L-ow on On The Edge Records called Rocking Chair which is just fantastic.

Also, Pinch has a similar kind of energetic minimalism to his tunes. So does Scuba's new/recent material, and Pangaea...

Brilliant tune, reminds me of Rain - Breakage, the sub bass is just mindblowing.

Don't bother with the track if you don't have anything to deliver massive bass.
