I only have 7 at the moment, but I beta-tested 8:

I like:

Groove Engine
Operator Enhancements (this synth is a BEAST)

really dissapointed with this upgrade
£130 for features that should have been incorporated a long time ago
if you're rewiring its hard to justify this upgrade imo

Is the warping not significantly better?

From the looks of it this would be the only thing that might tempt me to upgrade...

DONT FORGET THEY UPPED THE ANTY ON THE RENDERING ENGINE TO A HIGHER RESOLUTION!!!! A MONSTER UPGRADE! FINALLY ABLETON WILL HANG WITH THE BIG DAWGS AND I CAN STOP REWIRING NUENDO! 7 does sound great but if you listen closely there is a small amount of noise that has to be addressed in mastering... 8 is still too buggy to use as I've been told by a few people (Ableton is notorious for dropping releases and fixing on the fly) It took them till about version 7.03 to get it solid last time around so I'm gonna wait as 7 is still rocking.

YAH THAT GROOVE POOL IS BOMB FOR SURE! Max for live looks insane as well but wont be released to later on this year unfortunately (for the price of this upgrade I think it should be included along with a hottie to rub my feet while im producing)

Still not sure about that Akai controller...wanna get my hands on one before I buy it. Does look dope for live shows but if you are more of a studio only type of guy I think the interface focuses too much on clip launching. I would trade that in for motorized faders, more knobs, and some proper sized pads for pounding out my beats...but for live shows it almost looks like it makes it all tooooo easy.

I actually saw a guy using it in the club last weekend and I have to admit it was kinda boring. It's more exciting to watch mixing as skill is needed. Opposed to simply pushing buttons to launch clips. However. used in conjunction with other gear it could be a huge asset![/i]
