New label - chilled out dubstep

Post by arktic » Mon Apr 20, 2009 7:38 pm

right so here it is.. ive currently got a digital label in the works looking to launch the summer. the plan is start pretty low key releasing a small number of tracks but with massive promotion and effort put on those selected songs and then hopefully devlop other the next year as the name gets out there and events and vinyl releases come into play. anyway as i said its starting small and im not expecting it to be a key label over night but if you got any chilled dubstep tracks that are sitting on your harddrive unheard, then send them across and see if there are what the label is looking for. :D the idea of the label is max promotion and effort put on each track with press releases sent to all online and uk national radio stations as well as club djs and mag as a reviewers. www.myspace.com/eightstonerecords

Yeah, i'd be OK for you to have a track or two.

I'm at work so can't get onto myspace at the moment.

Where are you based? not that is really matters, just interested.

Anyway, have a look on myspace for a feel of my stuff, got two EP'S coming out on the Techno label Styrax very soon. So the quality is there.

Let me know anyhow. If you have a Soundcloud dropbox, I could sort something out, or AIF via sendspace if you prefer.

Cheers mate.

Oh cheers Eops man, I don't wanna bang on about it. It's a nice thing having releases on the same label as Octave 101, BVDub, Redshape, Shed and so on.

They are a quality label, one for the deep Detroit heads.

Limited coloured vinyl as well, and the label designs are pure art.

Should be good. And the First 'In Your Hands' EP out in a few weeks time, tracks being mastered this Friday in Hamburg.

Thank you!

Obviously I am completely chuffed to bits.

My tracks are different than their normal releases so they are taking a slight detour in direction with my music, which is 2-step/ambient soul flavours of various denominations.

Nice to see that a label as respected as Syrax is willing to buck the trend.

Of course it could all end up on it's arse :-) so props to them for taking the chance.

Funny how all these strains of music are interlinked, Sven Wiesserman remixed Ramadanma's 'Humber' on Apple Pips.
He's one of me label mates. Nice!

Thank you kindly for the support. I'll let folks know what colour the vinyls gonna be and put the artwork for the labels on the 'space page.

cheers for the responces. to answer some of the questions, im based in dundee scotland. the best way to get demos to me is by soundcloud or aim: reaxiondnb or send link to eighstone@hotmail.co.uk all tracks submitted will atleast get some feedback. or if not right for eightstone i got links with a few other labels so will pass anyone if eighstone cant take them but i still think they are release quility. also planning to have a monthy guest mix on the site to help promote all the wicked djs out there, so over the coming month will be taking mix demos 2. this will simply be a 6-7 songs mix that we will host, along with details of the dj and any promotional material they want hosted for that month. also the same kind of think for bloggers and reviews, so if you review music or wanna get into it then get in touch!

at work but will started getting feedback out tonight

Sounds good chaps - I have made a couple of tracks recently that would maybe slot in nicely with the feel you are going for - looking to get a digital/vinyl release so let me know what you reckon :)

The two tracks I think would suit best are...

- Iron Fist
- New Western

Both of which can be found in the myspace player

Or on virb

Take it easy!
