im pretty sure it uses peer2peer technology to stream that fast, but its not illegal in the sense that its like limewire or something.

Ah, I think I get it....

....Some songs called 'Crashed, Pulp Who and Rufneck' produced by yourself and Mr Cutamos have been on spotify for a long time.

bit of an out-dated definition of dubstep imo but it all helps.

I wouldn't pat spotify on the back too hard for "paying" labels and artists to use their music. Last I looked on some digital sales and PRS statements those kind of streaming sites paid pennies for hundreds (if not thousands) of plays.

While it's a great way for people to listen to music easily, and it is legal and above board, I still think actually buying the music is a much better way to support the artists and labels you love.

Yeah, I just think that it would be a great shame for the general record buying public to be convinced that the labels and artists get a fair deal from sites like that.

The truth is that a small label will make a truly tiny amount from each track, and I do mean just a few pence every three months. At present the best way to help support the music you love is still to buy it in whatever format it's available in.

Downloads are indeed better, but the royalties are based on more than just what PRS gets for streaming... Subscriber fees and commercials are added to the equation, at least for the labels.

The Bug - Tapping The Conversation LP (1997)

Obviously not dubstep, but interesting stuff.
