Press the . key on the right of your keyboard on the number pad - also known as the 'Del' key. This puts your session back to the start of the song.futures_untold wrote:If you tap 'Return' once in R3, it takes the play marker back to the left marker. Tap it twice, and it returns ll the way to the beginning.
In R4, tapping enter swaps you between the arrange view and the midi edit view (I think...) It doesn't function as simply and beautifully as it used too.

Here's to hoping they bring out a new filter unit that combines all the filters in Reason into a full rack width insert effect!

Yeah I'm a Reason user, and my two major complaints are not being able to edit audio files in any way, and the fact that you can't automate the knobs on the NN-XT. I won't pretend to know anything about programming, but shouldn't it be really easy to just add automation options to those? Why would they not? It makes the NN-XT a LOT less useful than it could be.
i dont think they have any intention of having vst/vsti support.
people have been asking since initial release of reason and they havent bothered.
they like their own V studio environment theyve created and they believe they make tools powerfull enough for people to make whatever they want and tbh they are right.
with vst's you find your self using a similar selection each time just like what you would use for reason.
im ex reason and now ableton but tbh i loved reason alot and combinator was sick
only reason i moved is because of direct recording

love the sequencer... i think u shouldnt have to mess about with wires if u dont want, its well anoiyying. It needs more and better effects definatly. if ur having a program with no vst's u need sick effects and although scream and the reverb are good i's say all the rest are a bit weak, a good 8 band eq would be good.
redrum is ok but would be better with like mixing options so u dont need a eq for every noise.
and editing samples obviously

with your numlock on press 1......nowaysj wrote:How about to the start of your loop? Isn't that more important? 10 times a session I'll jump to the start of the song, 1000 times I want to jump to the start of the loop.
I don't use nn-xt's. Just stack up 19's and then you can automate filter.
to go to your right locator press 2
piss about with the num pad for a bit there's some handy shortcuts on there
NN-xt automated knobs would be on point!!!! or maybe introduce a new updated sampler to the rack that would be fully automatable + a few extras!GV1 wrote: I can't really fault Reason 4 to be honest. Apart from the NN-XT should have automated knobs, as it currently doesn't. If you hooked up an MPD 32 to that you'd have the perfect software based MPC controlled by a midi controller.
