Most heavyweight dance music doesn’t have mainstream appeal. You don’t hear proper dubstep, jungle or minimal techno on the radio and you won’t get it in the charts. People who basically make tunes to play them to their mates or hear them at specialist club nights have a different attitude than people who are driven by the idea of touring the world playing to tens of thousands at a time.

As a style dubstep is uncommercial with the hook generally being a bassline instead of a vocal. Then there’s the added bonus that even the more immediate tunes with catchy vocals or synths sound like shadow of themselves on the radio because you can’t hear the bottom end. Basically, it’s not going to happen.

People around here act as if it's the end of the world that people outside this forum know about dubstep, so what snoop dogg heard eastern jam, who cares. it's not like in 6 months time chris moyles is going to be playing sine of the dub at 8am on a monday morning.

Why is everyone defending Lil' Jon, but not Snoop Dogg? When Snoop Dogg Millionaire was released you would be hard pressed to find someone defending him or mainstream stuff. Yet when bad talk of Lil Jon comes from someone, literally no one agrees with that person.

Whys it matter, theres still loads of good producers, just listen to them. If skreams in for the kill song is mainstream it doesn't make it any less good. Dubstep wasn't gonna stay underground forever, its too piggin good.
