can you lot tell me some good jungle tunes, the really good ones dat define the genre. see it was a bit before my time, but every1 keep going on about the old days of jungle, comparin it to dubstep, etc...

Most if not all of this stuff is from 1993-1995... not many tunes after 1995 did much for me, and by 1997, it was as good as dead as far as I was concerned - it was all about Garage from 1996 onwards anyway.

very true, i got some pushed in my hands last year checking a record shop and just because of the quality you don't have to think about classics off different jungle labels being pressed on shady whites, with the soundquality they might aswell have added that it are bootlegs on the labels themselves (although i must say some of them have rather classy labels on them)

Yeah, picked up one of these - I now have one of the most off-center, painful to listen to pressings of Lighter ever.

Mind you I think it did give the original labels the push to do the re-releases such as Sub Base and Moving Shadow, so not all bad.

it was also used in predator's "art attack" (gabba)
by the way wasn't mutant revisited released on no u-turn or am i wrong?
must be one of my fav. hard jungle tracks

not trying to spam or something, i just had to re-upload my set for someone so i'm posting it here aswell.
don't expect very tight mixes or to not hear small corrections, do expect some good music which i think doesn't get played enough.

first recorded set to be put online, in an attempt to get some feedback on the mixing skills if anyone wants to give me some

The original 'Here Come the Drums' by Nasty Habits (Doc Scott). On 'As Nasty as I Wanna Be' EP if you're lucky enough to find it. Early proto jungle.

That was a bad assed track - about 14 years old now.

Yeah, that tune's relentless. Got this one on Dark Side Hardcore Drum and Bass - some good tracks on that and (dons tweed and pipe) a fascinating document of the period where hardcore was ending and jungle was born.
