Sweep / woosh
Easy all.
Im trying to make a sweepy / wooshy build upy sort of noise for a build up to a drop.
An example of what i mean that i can think of off the top of my head is the build up to the 2nd drop in chase & status - take me away (not particularly a fan of the tune but has a few examples of what i mean)
Theres loads of examples of what i mean though, its a pretty cliched sort of sound in dance music but i would like to know how it is made.
Safe.

Just use white noise, maybe filter it a bit to take out some of the top end (reduce the harshness of it), and smack on some effects and EQ, then use pitch to change the timbre as you approach the drop.
Bosh.
Done.

cheers for the tips anyway mate, its worked well, managed to make exactly what i wanted.
Just made a sound with white noise and a triangle wave then eq'd it a bit played with the volume envelope and pitch and added a phaser and filter then added a small bit of reverb to give it a bit of depth.
hopefully the end tune will turn out well, ill post it up if it does.
