i've been trying to make real dub for a long time but it's so much harder.

I'm not young but I'll be honest I was never into dub/reggae - I just couldn't get into at all. Now finally I've got into it after years of hearing it off and on.

Reggae & Dub has always been my first love, and was the first music I really, really started to get into (possibly at the same time as getting into minimal tecno
)
Something just really draws me towards the beat patterns and the skank, just feels 'right' for me is the only way to explain it really. I love all the artists you've listed above, and other old school dub including Mikey Dread & Keith Hudson too.
There is SO much good dub that has come out of the UK though, I love a lot of the more modern digi dub and steppers as well.
Some UK artists to check (may well of heard of them);
Jah Shaka, Aba Shanti-I, Iration Steppers, Mad Proffesor, Vibronics
Dub on the continent;
Molecule, Kanka, Rhythm & Sound
You can't stop dub!

theres a good dvd out there called dub echoes (Trailer here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPz6lAa4y-I) along the short mentioning of dubstep its really worth watching for the real dub part

My tastes in reggae are constantly evolving but in a peculiar way. Over the last couple of years I've started listening to older and older stuff and now I find myself listening to calypso quite a lot.
Favorite artists at the moment are: Lord Tanamo, Mighty Sparrow, Lord Kitchener, Count Lasher, Lord Spoon & David, Lord Ivanhoe and His Caribbean Knights, Lord Creator.
Lots of Lords in there lol.
As for reggae: Gregory Isaacs, Max Romeo, The Slickers, Derrick Morgan, Bob Andy, Phylis Dillon, The Gaylads
