visiting the LDN..
Sup,
The 16th to the 18th of june, ill be visiting London..
I'm making a list of things/places to visit.
But i'm also looking for the stuff your standard tourist wont find and what better way to get info on that then asking local heads, rite?
So anything worth the visit is helpfull, i'm thinking record shops, cool book shops, clothing as well, (temporary) exhibitions, basically aything you can come up with that you'd recommend to a belgian bringing a visit..
Oh yeah, plz add an adress since the city is still totally unknown to me..
thx in advance !

Record shops - Camdens got quite a few, if your after more dance music (dubstep/dnb/electro/techno) then head to soho - theres a few well good shops there, blackmarket records being one of them.
Clubwise you want to check out FWD @ Plastic People just off Old Street, go there on a sunday, its the best night youll get for dubstep. Go to Fabric if you want a night of madness, never been to Matter but thats just as good from what i've heard.
Go down Brick lane at the weekend for a curry and a fight.
Enjoy yourself!
Also - Get a travelcard on your oystercard instead of topping it up as you go, if your going all over the place you'll end up spending a fortune otherwise!

lolz, that's pretty much camden for youtr0tsky wrote:Go to Camden Market, buy some oregano off a 14 year old, get pissed in the Ice Warf and then go to Stables Market just before they close to get £1 boxes of MSG-chinese food that they've not been able to sell all day.
you can get good(ish) green in camden market from the right peeps, not from the peeps on the streets

I've clearly never bumped into the right people. Only ever met dodgy-as-fuck kids selling parsley in Camden!dub wrote:lolz, that's pretty much camden for youtr0tsky wrote:Go to Camden Market, buy some oregano off a 14 year old, get pissed in the Ice Warf and then go to Stables Market just before they close to get £1 boxes of MSG-chinese food that they've not been able to sell all day.

fuck the tube. whoever said get on the tube is crazy.
if you've never been to london before, you'll be quite happy just wandering around the city admiring some of the architecture. spend as little time as possible on the tube - its grim.
go to downing street, admire the armed guards.
check the parks, get stoned.
definitely check out a dubstep night.

they've mostly cleared out the dodgy fuckers.. it seems to me there's an ongoing undercover operation to spot them dealing.. the pigs all know these fuckers are selling shit, it's just difficult to catch em in the act.. (i've seen the undercovers do their thang on more than one occasion)Magma wrote:I've clearly never bumped into the right people. lol i remember a couple of years back when shrooms were still being sold on the street, you couldn't walk a couple of metres without being offered 'skunk weed, skunk weed'
i think it's good the pigs are clearing out the trash on the streets, those fuckers take advantage of tourists looking to buy some spliff, not cool
green still flows heavily through the right ppl though, and the pigs have left these ppl alone, as they don't openly sell it

definately check out Rough Trade in shoreditch, opposite Cafe 1001, here is a little map!
Also, if you are in East, & you like a bike-ride, try a ride down the greenway, it passes through from East-ham like all the way to stratford & beyond & its a really nice, quiet route.
If you like dubstep, then obv FWD>> & DMZ are the places (FWD>> is located at Plastic People, near that Rough Trade shop (sort of), DMZ is south of the river, @ mass in brixton (shitty area))
I'd try Leicester Square (try & get in the wetherspoons if possible, cheapest by far) if you are just out for a nice drink/easy/quick one...
Also check out some of the parks, which are good for going to cotch & blaze in..(Hyde Park, Regent's Park etc...)
Troccadero @ Oxford Circus if you are PROPER into you're arcade games...and if you are into Boutiques & the like, shoreditch has some really interesting Art, Record & Clothes shops....
Cant think of much else as I am @ work...
