L5D you're a badman.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make this one due it being summer/ having to get a job to pay off my £2500 overdraft.../ living back in watford.

I really hope this goes well and something is on offer in september!

Hey guys!

Signed up to the board specifically because of the thread (I found the forum in my search for undergroundish Guildford ravey stuff :-)

I'm a massive fan of all non-cheese electronic music (old-skool and nu-skool alike!) and a student at Surrey Uni (moving into 2nd year)

However.. now I've been in Guildford for a year I'm looking to set my sights a little higher - the already mentioned "Rubix" is OK but cheesy. Someone also mentioned that they played in the smaller part of Rubix down below - I'm afraid that bit hosts some good music, but I'm afraid the nights will invariably suck - "HRB" (as it is known) is home to all the people into rock/emo shit and it's dark & dingy & depressing..

How can I find out about some of the better goings on at Guildford, especially the lesser known raves? :) If there are some people in-the-know on Facebook I could add or relevant groups I could join, please holla!

Cheers all!
~ Dan

Mnuvrs.com hosted night in Guildford

Post by mnuvrs » Tue Jun 23, 2009 9:21 pm

Hey guys, just been Googling for good nights in Guildford and came across this thread. Been to one D is for Dubstep and it was ace but not very busy. However like some one said previously i reckon there is an untapped market of party people waiting for a decent night to get their rave on here in Surrey.

We would love to put on a Mnuvrs.com hosted night somewhere in the town with local DJ's, our residents and some bigger acts too, however we are quite new to the area so aren't that aware of good venues. I know the clubs are pure cheese, but i have heard a few people mention Five and Lime, you reckon these guys would be open to negotiations? Is it a good venue for a packed out night of good music? Am i right in thinking they have an over 21 policy though (not ideal)?

Is there anywhere else that might be suitable. If anyone would be interested in helping to make this happen then don't hesitate to get in touch. info@mnuvrs.com

Peace

Looking forward to this by the way. Good skills on getting this organised. See you there.

I went to ACM last year and DJ at the boileroom about once a month on the acm nights and play a fair bit of dubstep when i do those. Best bet is to go to braille or drop in kingston :)

There's plans afoot for a couple of dub related nights in guildford atm too, I'll keep you all posted.
