What about tracks like Wizard Killa, Rowdy Time, Glitch, The Grudge, & Stand Off? Those tracks aren't clones, they're some of my favourite DNB tracks of all time. Those tracks are a good example of how much they've changed over tha years.

Props to them though, big ups to anyone making money off the thing they love doing!

glitch, the grudge (even though it's a collab) - noisia/phace/neuro at that moment
stand off - evol intent/ewun/barcode at that moment in time

also not saying i don't dig their tunes, just saying there is never really anything new or unique about em

Yeah I'm not denying they're good tunes, I'm just saying, like Deadly habit has, that everything they've done, there's a ton of other stuff thats just like it, albeit Chase and Status mainly do it a bit better.

My point is that when, for example, Pendulum did Another Planet, it was musically (although dividing opinion) a very ambitious and original piece of music, as well as having high production standard, so for me their breakthrough was less of a surprise. Vault was the first time someone used a triplet fill at the beginning of a phrase, as another example. But with C&S, I've never heard anything in a tune and thought, wow, that'sa really new idea. I actually like quite a lot of their tunes so I'm not being negative really, just don't think they're particularly exciting musically.

wise ups a great tune from back in 03 imo - really stood out for me

my 2 cents is i dont think its a good move for anyone to go to a major unless they're planning teenybopper chart assaults a la pendulum with a 'live band' and all that

ahh it was bound to happen, all in all thats a good deal for all involved dont forget that RAM will get a healthy pay out from this..

fair enuff they may end making whack music but anyone who produced some fat tracks like they did should be allowed access to the best equipment money has to buy.

lets hope they dont go to pendulum

Just have a little bit of respect.
a lot of truth of course and it isn't easy but i think when someone people really like make it they are equally congratulatory as they would be nasty about music they don't like..

If bats in the belfry or mecha got signed to a major do you really think people would hate on it?

that's why they've consistently changed their style to the big thing of the moment and churned out a bunch of generic copycatish tunes over the years and nothing really unique or a sound of their own?

don't get me wrong they're good engineers and i enjoy a couple of their tunes, but they're not doing anything innovative or special to me.
my feelings exactly. they are the epitome of bandwagon jumpers. they make some nice tunes, but its always tagging along and a lack of diversity, sticking to presets for a certain time

hope they make bare money and get gold toilets. i would.

good luck to them. I really don't understand all the hate against C&S. I wouldn't say their album is among my faves but a lot of other stuff ain't either, so who cares really? What about The Prodigy? I'd consider them more commercial/mainstream than Pendulum or C&S will probably ever become but Prodigy is generally respected and not hated on. If you don't like what they're putting out, pay no more attention to it.
I am however surprised to read that 50K sold units are considered a lot these days.

it's hard to ignore commercial music if you have ears. i try my best, i avoid commercial nightclubs like the plague, don't watch mtv or listen to the radio, and yet i always seem to be up to date on the latest chart bollocks. how, i don't know, but it will be impossible not to pay attention to whatever jizz c&s release on universal.
