You could also use a little tool, what is called Gamebooster, it shuts down unnesessary processes and services like automatic updates, etc.

Or use a good, light distro of linux, which you configure to your needs, my linux box takes under 30 MB of RAM, by default. This requires getting used to another DAW or using wine though..

or you could just just use msconfig and the task manager to shut down unnescessary processes and not run strange exe files you find on the internet

these may free your ram but wont speed up your pc. they work by using a shitload of ram themselves, forcing windows to dump all the used ram that isnt really being used, which would happen if you actually needed all the ram anyway.

i am 80% sure of this

its really satisfying just clearing up all your shit and having ur computer run all smooth.
any one who hasnt already should get ccleaner
http://www.ccleaner.com/

It just clears all the shit you didnt even know was there.
Also if your running itunes on a pc you should seriously consider switching to something else, ive been using foobar and i wouldnt even consider going back.

We should make this the 'get the most out of your shitty computer thread'
