SPECTRASOUL (Shogun Audio, Critical) ***Debut Influences Set***
BRACKLES (Applepips, Planet Mu, Berkane Sol)
Reprise All-Stars (Reference, Squire, Murray)
8pm-2am @ The Horse & Groom, Curtain Road, Shoreditch, London
Reprise Presents returns with a sterling lineup to mark Honcho Howard's twentysomething birthday.
As per usual, free entry all night and strictly good vibes.
Our good friends SPECTRASOUL are coming hot off the back of their debut at Fabric to play a very very special set of all the music that has influenced them to date. The chaps are very excited about this - it's the first influences set they have had the opportunity to play. Their sound has been affected by early funk and soul, electronica, broken beat, jungle, dubstep and much in between.
They will be pulling out some of the little known tracks they have sampled throughout their catalogue of music and will be building up throughout the night from downtempo through the genres up to dubstep and early jungle that had a profound effect on their sound.
Switch to current, and Spectrasoul have tracks coming on Goldie's Metalheadz imprint, Teebee's Subtitles, D-Bridge's Exit Records and more works for Kasra's Critical. 2009 is going to be absolutely massive for them.
BRACKLES is set to blow this year. A regular at the legendary FWD, championed by FACT Magazine, and with releases set for Appleblim's highly respected, genre-defying Applepips label and Planet Mu. His sound draws on various influences, from old skool hardcore to funky, house, garage, dubstep and much in between. Much buzz about this chap so we are excited to have him down.
Reprise All Stars bring up the rear in formidable fashion...expect anything and everything.
