Friday 29th May
Toddla T
'Skanky Skanky' album launch
(1965, Thugs and Hugs)
Support from Kinkdogg and Jackmaster (Numbers, Dress2Sweat)
One of Kinky Afro’s recent faves - Toddla T is what we are all about - mixing up dancehall, techno, dubstep, garage, house, reggae and ragga jungle to explosive effect.
Fresh from the release of his latest single, ‘Shake It’, - his ridiculously wigglesome offering for 2009 - we are paving the way for Toddla to come and rock every one of your spots.
Gaining nuff respect from, well, pretty much everyone, 2008 set 24 year old Tom Bell up with the support, know-how and wanton will to nail his debut album for our delectation.
Conjured up in bedroom during mostly the sleepless wee small hours, ‘Skanky Skanky’ is undoubtedly one of the most inspiring and refreshing debut albums from this home grown digital dancehall deviant you’ll hear for some time.
In short: this is the one of the most fun and mutant strains of music we can find.
Bastard dancehall at its very best.
Being a well connected young chap has paid off - collabs on ‘Skanky Skanky’ include tracks with Roots Manuva, Tinchy Stryder, Artic Monkey’s Matt Helders, Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard, infamous Rasta poet Benjamin Zephaniah (watch out for a Skream mix on that one) and latest EP ‘Shake It’ with Herve.
We were literally quite bowled over by Toddla last January and have been waiting patiently for this album to drop…
check his last Subbbie set at www.radiomagnetic.com/kinkyafro
where you can see why his style makes him one of Kinky Afro’s most apt and fun genre busting DJs of our time. Reddy? Check.
Support comes from The Kink Dogg & Jackmaster, who steps in for Mafro who is awol through matrimony. Not his.
Bwap!
£8 concessions / £10.
11pm till 3am @ The Sub Club.

I think this is a great mix. Shows off his party dancefloor blending nicely. We're really looking forward to having him at Kinky Afro with Serocee.
