Dubstep LA

Post by dubstepla » Mon Jun 08, 2009 11:36 pm

I created the Dubstep LA project with my partner Mr. Grustle. Our main goal is for dubstep to be a genre of music that can fill up a huge amphitheater or even better HUGE warehouse. And if we are going to do it right we need to have the culture as well.

The first mixtape is for people to start paying attention to dubstep in the US. We have been playing tracks to rappers from Xzibit to Living Legends. Their responses are all the same (they make the face like someone just farted..you know the face im talking about) This is a great sign that dubstep can be a huge genre where there is a lot more producers and a lot more shows. I am a huge dubstep fanatic and have been for the last 2 years. I have seen this movement explode in the states and there is only a few people that can be credited for that. We dont just want to get rappers over dubstep and thats its, we want artist from ever genre to incorporate dubstep.

Also this mixtape isnt just some corny bull shit stunt it actually has some of my favorite producers and exclusive tracks from N-Type which he made just for the mixtape, Youngsta, Coki, Excision, Caspa, Om Unit, 12th planet, EMU, 6blocc, kelly dean, steady, pawn and like 20 more dj's.

Its planned to drop on June 20th on Getdarker.com with a free download of a 2 hour mix in 2116 kbps need that full range.

We are also in the works of doing a huge event at Fabric so look out for that as well.

You know, I have heard a few tracks from this in Plasticians sets and I am really feeling the Murs track on that chase and status tune. Haven't heard this in its entirety - and really excited about this rumour I been hearin about Xzibit doin a track? but I really appreciate everyones involvment down from PR to delivery production and most of all, the bars!

What really astounds me is people putting this much time and effort into something that is for free. Glad some people are keeping this sound experimental and trying to do new stuff with it in this monsterous collaboration.
