What effects your productions?

Post by futures_untold » Wed Jun 10, 2009 3:23 pm

When you make a tune, what effects the vibe you try to impart in your tune?

Mood?
Weather?
Inebriants?
Little curly things under you pillow?

For me, the most common thing to effect my music is my current mood. that said, sometimes I set out to make a tune that does certain things, like it has a certain beat or makes use of a certain effect. these tunes aren't usually effected by my mood, as I'm usually in a scientific mode when doing these tunes.

What about you?

EVERYTHING!

I think I am one of those hyper sensitive types

if I get in a arguement with someone, I cant make tunes.

if I have a great day, I'll knock one out, easily.

weather affects me, money situations, you name it

Allot: How I feel that day. What random scales or chords I happen to play on that particular day. If I have someone in the studio making suggestions like yesterday. How much herb I smoke. How inspired to try something new I am. How determined I am to achieve a particular sound.

I produce so much that it is like impossible for me to have any kind of ritual or special things that I do or don't do. I ususally just see what vibe the song ends up moving towards and going with it. I always smoke the fine herbs though. always.

The weather, if its just a normal day or in witer/autumn i tend to go for dubstep beats, but as it starts to get warmer and sunnier and you start gettig that summery vibe everything turns all eletcro housey breaksy. Also my mood if im pissed off ill do a tune with a fuck off sub from the off, if im all relaxed i tend to do some really interesting shit, high pass it, then put stuff underneath.

I does depend on my mood.
If I don't have a work in progress at the time, and I have a cup of coffee, I get this elated feeling about a groove that I can feel in my mind.

Yeah and often when I somewhere I have to be I'll make something really good as I leave. But I can sit for hours and not have anything that really catches me.
