I like the fact that it's really simple musically, giving all the power to Gira's voice...Love his voice. He ain't got a "good" voice...but there's that...honnest and desperate feeling in the way he sings. Makes me think of David Tibet (current93) in a certain way.

love swans FILTH - thats some spongy reggae. liked the later stuff less and less.

that crooning country western stuff was worse than nick cave and leonard cohens later crud.

Nick Cave's Grinderman album was pretty bad-ass!

And personally I much prefered Swans albums like "Burning World" and "White Light from the Mouth of Infinity" which which a lot less heavy then their early beasts.
