Anyone got any or know of a decent source? Preferably the bit shit synthesised sounding kind but any would be great.

try some jacko pastorius - especially his eighties stuff. some mean fast slap bass with a sythy sound

for cheesy synth slap bass cant beat a DX7 or FM8, tho please, for the love of god, don't....just don't

Sheeeit... the Slap Bass patch in the general MIDI 1 kit should be more than fine for this. Just use a little bitcrush or whatever to degrade it and make it sound more synthetic.

Sorry man, Jaco NEVER slapped.

The Seinfeld bass was a synth. I would investigate the FM7, FM8, or analog synths like the DX7, DX100, etc

but yea fm8 or fm7 can do it, prolly something close in a preset

dx7 would be my guess but yeah, it sounds like just a standard GM setting.
