it's not dubstep per-say but it's bassy enough that I would hope some of you will let it slide :]

don't change a thing... lol! really liked it; unique style.

If I would say one thing, and one thing only, the melody during the intro dips massivly when the perc hits, is this sidechain compression? if so maybe loosen the release a little?

Thats me trying really hard to criticise a fine peice of work
Appreciate it dudes :]
it's way more badass now too! much more wubwubwub.
There's a sidechain on the pads with the snare in the beginning that I was planning on tidying it up, haven't gotten to it yet.

I think everything else is just washed out because of the bad mix and lazy Eqing when I was bouncing out that sample. :p

The original eq'ing of that perc was really weird to begin with so I think I'ma trash it for something more sick.

I'm still not great on the technical end of things so I'm hoping to bring in a buddy of mine who knows his stuff to help me mix it down in the end.

lots more to come, some big changes from this version, I'll throw up the next WIP when I'm done working for the day.

New wip version up! would love comments and critiques on the direction.
there are lots of loose ends in this one, so if something sounds out of place, it probably is!

hello

i'm pretty new to the electronic scene. i've played guitar for 10 years, but i went to a rave a year ago, and a friend introduced me to dubstep and now i'm hooked... i downloaded fruity loops 5 months ago and have been using it almost every day since.

i'm interested in what you guys think about my stuff, it's sort of videogameish/dubstep/rock/metal inspired:

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/default ... tent=music

a lot of my songs especially "something is wrong" are poorly mixed though. i'm having a lot of trouble when i convert my songs to .mp3... it seems that IN fruity loops the mixing is great, but when i render it and then play it, when the loud parts come the other parts get quieter, it's so annoying! (is that compression?) i read somewhere that fruity loops is really bad for mixing, do you guys have the same problems with it?.. i'm trying to dl a copy of cubase but i'm not having a lot of luck :| i guess that's what money is for.

It's getting there, bass is starting to sound goooood...
Still have to change that kick sample though.

The part's after the break are still pretty rough, but general polishing/changes needed all around still, so comment and critiques are appreciated!

Love the intro's atmosphere, maybe dont over-do that reverbed 'click'.. because it is such a nice sound and it looses its 'shine' when it keeps coming back.
Main body is good.. not sure about the sub tho - i personally like my sub to be a bit more dubby rather than constant movement.
Cool vocal samples in the breakdown.
When everythin comes back in afterwards, maybe push one of those pads up an octave to lift the track up a bit. Give it a go 8)
Overall, the track is sounding pretty tastey mate.

pess@

the second part, where the wobble kicks in, is Awsome! i dislike the kind of beat you put on the first part but that's a matter of personal perference.
anyway good stuff.

rook@
HUGE! i loved it! the piano is briliant.
very original too

blind prophet- not really my style\taste, but it's got a nice atmospheric vibe, although i found it a little repetetive..

something i've started yesterday, a kind of punk\dubstep hybrid, help me and comment :)

Hi all!

I've been working on this track the past days and planning to finish this one (I have 50+ loops but 0 finished tracks).

The mood I try to create is a zone-out stonerstep-like ganjapuffin' look at the pretty colors, hey hear that bass yo! type of mood.

http://soundcloud.com/sinussawtooth/sin ... lina-w-i-p

It's a work in progress, as in, I need to do something with the intro, the outro, and maybe some more pads or layers in the tune...

Any fair critique is welcome! (but be gentle and use lube)

Thanks!

roodbwoy

(ah yea, and Sinus Sawtooth is my alias for dubstep kind of music)

'Sup steppers!

Here is a tune I've produced using Logic and Reason, now this is my first one I've actually completed and been sort of happy-ish with. I find it really hard to critique my own work so was wondering if I can get some feedback/tips from youz audiophiles on how to either improve this or just bare in mind for future works. I'm heading off to UEL to study Music Technology in September but that's along time to wait for some sound (lol pun) advice.

Ez

Tune's called Capslock:
