You're an utter fool I'm afraid mate.
I think despite Andy's verbal diarrhea what he's getting at is that when you've got your own home and your sole source of income is the music you produce/DJ money does become more important unless you wanna go back to your shitty dayjob. Sure some ppl have gone through years of obscurity then blown up for doing their own thing but some of us have already gone full time and arn't getting enought sales from the deeper side of dubstep to make ends meet producing that shit alone.
Nero on the other hand just like to write popular music (yes some of their other tunes do get on my tits too - sorry Dan/Joe im sure the feeling is mutual) but is that such a bad thing? They've got an album coming out on Breakbeat Kaos, done 2 remixes for beyonce, 2 for the streets, 1 for MJ Cole, and they're signed to Coda agency now as well and about to tour Australia so they must be doing something right. I suppose for the sort of music that they're choosing to write they can expect to get a bit of abuse though same as Pendulum etc

Not Great to be honest.. listenable but fairly generic..
more to the point.. WHAT THE FUCK is wrong with MCs? Why are they so universally SHITE!
Why would I want to hear music ruined by some coked up egomaniac talking utter bollocks at an ear-blistering volume over it?
Beggars believe

The above is fair enough on one level I suppose, but tbh people who make music just to make money miss the point of music as a whole. It shouldn't be a commodity. The likes of Nero, Chase & Status etc are no better than the people who churn out formulaic chart music - the same attitude is behind both things. So yeh people like it, and on that level there is some value in it, but it's not artistic value.

Dude, you're summing us up on a few tunes. All our releases so far have been singles, dance singles. We're currently writing a dubstep album which is very musical, when writing an album we'll be musical, when putting out singles we write for a dance floor, its nothing to do with wanting money or success.

Perfectly possible to make interesting music that works on the dancefloor and be successful. Look at Martyn ffs. It's not about being "musical" either, it's a different aesthetic. It's like comparing Basic Channel to Tiesto I guess.
Obviously no-one likes getting criticised, but clearly enough people like your stuff so I'm not sure why you've got so involved with this thread tbh. When you remix Sincere in the style that you did you should have been expecting a slating from some quarters.

this
also got to agree with this Corpsey about the ''If it goes off in a dance' phrase, yeah i am just being old fashioned or whatever but wasnt dubstep a little more than just "rave" tunes before? What about vibes and emotions?
Sad that
a lot of this music is going just the same way as dnb, on this song in particular i dont think its the worse by far. (gotta say didnt know the original)

People often write one style of music to get popular then switch things around though - best example I can think of for that (its a bit of an odd one) is The Beatles. Ripped off Elvis etc until they were famous then got high as fuk and completely changed the music they were writing to something much more original - dont think im comparing anyone in dubstep to the Beatles lol but I'd like to think something similar was possible with dance music

I've hardly got that involved in the thread until now, I questioned the person who called the bassline a generic wobble.
You're coming across quite arrogant in the way you're writing dude, I don't need to be told about musical aesthetics and artistic value, (at the risk of sounding arrogant myself for a second) I'm a grade 7 cellist and took A level music.
I know I should just ignore it, but it angers me when you come on this thread up on your high horse and lecture about what is (in your opinion) musically acceptable.

That's the point - it's only my opinion. As I said, there's obviously plenty of other people who hold a different one. I'm sure you're fully aware of the differences between your style of music and others that could be counted as dubstep that better fit the aesthetics I'm talking about, as are plenty of other people I've talked to who make similar stuff to you. For example, Caspa is completely unapologetic about it and rightly so. You can't have it both ways - either you do your kind of stuff and play to lots of packed raves but get slagged off by people like me on the internet, or you go down the other route and slave your guts out to try to get the level of the few artists who can do that stuff and still make money.

I fuckin LOVE Mosh-pit step, Bangers, or whatever you wanna call it. This is fuckin stupid, just cuz tunes are not to your liking doesnt mean they are shit to everyone. Dubstep is DANCE music people go to dubstep nights to dance and go crazy and this tune will make that happen. If you prefer the original go fuckin listen to that one, I will be looking out for this one when or if it gets released.
Big up Nero!

Feeling the remix.
As a whole, dubstep can take many forms to create well rounded sets thru many forms of emotions.
Nero is providing a sound to move dancefloors and make people smile, as are many other artists making different styles and moods.
Keep doing your thing Nero, not very many people are in the position you two are. Make the best of it.
The world is listening(even the haters)
