Black Sun Empire + Dubstep??

Post by djcomplexity » Sun Jun 28, 2009 10:00 pm

Black Sun Empire Has Decided To Add Their Own Style To Dubstep!
What Do You Think...?
Should The Kids Stick With Drum and bass Or Keep having a shot at Step?

Hypersun is just a Brutal Electro track (it's like all the DnB producers who fancy having a go at dubstep just jump straight on Brutal Electro) and Cold Crysis has some nice ideas but not excecuted all that well IMO.

If he (or they, I don't know) can get their tracks up to the standard of their DnB it will be good I reckon, why not?!
Out Now:
DD005 - Retrospect
MRS029 - Connected/Lovin' You
DAR010 - Santogold - Shove It (remix) 12"
SET003 - Bob Marley - Is This Love (remix) 12"
Echodub Loves Volume 2 - White Room
FTW Records Digital - Panic Room
FTW Free Compilation - Get Up (a.k.a Symphony)

frankly i think hypersun is a banger with an irresistible bass sound that does not quit. definitely has tinges of dnb but i like the noticeable influence.

Not too big a fan of this one, it's better than some stuff though I guess. I have a mate who's heavy into his DnB who claims DnB producers are better at making dubstep than the dubstep producers are rofl... DnB producers all seem to go for the same sound when they're doing a dubstep track though, I don't properly understand why.

And if I'm not mistaken, Ramadanman was making drum & bass before he moved on to dubstep. Stop me if I'm wrong.

I just meant DnB producers who stay as DnB producers. I'd consider most of those guys dubstep producers before I'd call them DnB (with the obvious exceptions).

Rarr Sorry Peoples...I Originaly Thought It Was the One Porducer!
Bless On The Feed...

I Dont Know what to think about it, I Wasn't to keen on it, but its starting to grow on me!
And Regards To Dnb artists making dubstep...I Think if done well, and it sounds sick...then any producer should drop what they want!

I Just think The Demand for Dubstep Now Is so Fucking Immence from 3/4 years back, That alot of Dnb Artists Could start moving on to Step!

They've been on the Dubstep thing for a while actually...

3 or 4 Dutch guys - seems to me their production can't do any wrong.

right now I think their tunes sound a bit generic, using the sounds that worked for their dnb but not feeling them in 'dubstep'

but I'm sure they'll get the hang of it eventually and then really start puttin out great stuff.
