What does this actually mean? Do we use triplets only?

Thank god I'm not the only one who went mathematical on that one...

Depending on what style i'm starting at i'll use the following tempos...
House/Electro 128
Dubstep 120 upto 138 depending of what i'm doing, dark / fast + bouncy
DNB 170 (When I started producing I always used 178 but find that too fast nowadays)

i dunno whether dubstep will be as susceptible to the tempo warz as D&B has been. Seems like if it got sped up much more it'd loose the space which is one of the defining features of the genre.
my theory anyway.
oh, and 135 - 140. mostly 140.

All of my attempts at dubstep were in the 137-142 range.
My breakcore's in the 600 to 800 bpm range.

Personally I hope it goes up to 150... I just feel like 140 gets stagnant... plus I come from very CRUNK roots being an atlanta producer for over a decade, and IMO the ultimate crunk bounce tempo is like 77.... I try to bring that bounce to my music.

hmm i usually forget what tempo my tracks are, i don't think i shift from 140 much. dont think it makes a huge difference (within reason, like 138-143) in dubstep, compared to other genres.
