You get to put together the next pack if you win... and a slightly bigger than life-size porcelain statue of Bubbles the chimp. (Kidding! Just the first part is the prize.)

But if you make a tune that actually sounds like Bruce Haack does dubstep I might consider trying to get together the Bubbles statue for you anyway, neighbor. (I live in SF too.)
Wub wrote:Closing date 7/7? Could make a joke about tracks being the bomb, but might be bad taste.....
DOH. Typical American me hadn't even stopped to think about that date (for non-British Commonwealth types that's the UK's equivalent of 9/11, when the London subway system was bombed.) Maybe you can compose a revenge theme for an imaginary vigilante execution of the turdmongers responsible.
Wrexile wrote:...I wouldn't mind it being a 2 week deadline to be honest. Inspiration can't just be pulled out of a hat like a rabbit with me. I like to take atleast a little time fiddling around before I commit to a track.

Is that cool with everyone else?
Oh you and your commitment issues Wrex!

This is completely up to you guys. D'ya wanna poll for it, or...? If so, Wrexile, would you mind handling poll responsibilities?

Well if I start a poll, by the time the poll ends, the deadline for the tracks would probably be up  Fuck it, I dunno. I've got mine underway actually so I'll just leave it for the head honchos to decide ;)

Just got mine in. I'd have been surprised to be able to do it in a week, nevermind just under :o
Anyway, it was challenging (due to the samples provided) and very fun as always : )

I was gonna post up a poll (re: 1 or 2 week deadline) but so far there've been 4 submissions. At that rate we might as well just do 2 weeks, no worries...

Although I understand why some of you are chomping at the bit: been listening to the tracks submitted - as usual, everyone ran in very different directions with it and some fucking great tunes! Everything from mutant electro-step to barging swung-out future dub-garage. And that's just 4 tracks folks!

Can't wait to hear some more. :)

PMed

Im pysched to hear all the submissions

edit:

I'm curious to know if anyone else had trouble making a good bass kick?

I spent a lot of time messing with the samples to get a decent kick, couldn't get satisfaction from it!

One word (and I have someone around here to thank for it but forgot who, sorry) - BLOCKFISH.

Alternately, synthesizing your own from a snippet or snippets of wave form is also pretty easy. PM me if you want a quick tutorial.

Good question.

There are now 6 entries total; do we want to cut this off tomorrow at midnight or do we want to get more entries? Again, this is up to you good folks...

...so go vote on the deadline now!
