Favorite delays?

Post by subframe » Mon Nov 06, 2006 3:19 am

What delays do you rate? Hardware, software, whatever.

Me, I like King Dubby Delay about as much as it's possible to like anything. Logic's built in delays do the trick for basic work.

I'd love to get my hands on a echoplex or somethin', but the cost of obtaining and maintaining one is a bit prohibitive.

Got Logic, so generally use the tape delay, but got more into the new version of the Bionic Delay. There's one that I was using called (I think) Metal Mickey, that does sort of wierd filtration and general oddness, and another one called Morphing Delay that's quite nice. All freebies, search for em at KVR
Hmm....

Wow. I'm pretty up on my gear, but that was a new one on me.

Does anyone use that Line6 rack delay?

Hey Subframe,

trust me, when I heard of it the first time I thought the same. :)
But I had to buy it, and it sounds amasing. It´s very similar to the Binson Echorec models, ie. valve amp (can be overdriven, and sounds amasing) with multiple inputs and a revolving drum (magnet drum instead of tape).
Check it out:

This units is by far the most beautiful echo unit in the world with golden lettering and knobs and a amasing metallic blue/azure metal cover! Unfortunately the rubber band that drives the magnet drum broke, but I´m sure it will be fixed. :)
