First of all, you should get some decent drum samples. Those you have used suck big time. Second, listen to a lot of music that you like, and try to imitate the best parts. I'm not saying you should do music that way, but it's good practice. And third, if you are into dubstep production, forget the complicated bass patterns, and focus on crushing power.rapsag111 wrote:thanks for the response, yeah i just got ableton like last week and this is the first real song that i made with it. it's simple i guess, u have any specific comments though?I guess you haven't been producing for long?

Thanks for the input, I think I agree with all of it! I'll try to work on it this weekend - again really appreciate the feedback.LHD wrote:@chrish-Man I like the sounds in Darkside but it just seems to be lacking some in melodic qualities, and the mix could really use some love. There's some melody line in the background that I like but it really needs a stronger place in the mix. What you have just isn't really enough to carry me through with the pace of the song so slow. I think you have some really good ideas though, plenty original and lots of space, I like that. Just need some beefing up in your eq dept., some gain structure work, and maybe a bit more reverb on some of your sounds. That's just my opinion though.
No problem. Check out my tracks also:http://www.myspace.com/slakadubsteprapsag111 wrote:it should, thanks dood

wow this tune sounds sooooo crazy and cool...Sifres wrote:Liking the hardcore gabber kicks, but the bass feels kinda clunky, maybe experiment more with different attack and decay settings to make it a bit rounder... Also, the bass melody feels a bit "too much" for me... But that's down to taste i reckon...subindex wrote:myspace.com/wobblebass

So I made a song, just by reading things on this forum, I also stole a vocal out of the DSF for this track I hope that ain't a big deal.
It's my first Dubstep track, or maybe it isn't even close to it, but I made what I could.

Your new tune is a huge improvement from before. At this rate we should hear a serious banger in weeks. Big up!
