ohh don't get me wrong they're good samples - if you're into stuff like that..

But when I clicked through everything and tried to get a beat going, it seemed the packs were made with the worse samples (minus the 606s and a few pads) in the persons library on purpose...

Its been like that for like the last 3 packs!

its not meant to be easy tho is it?

i mean, they could pretty easily put a few drum hits and some synth notes and everything would be boring and same same

it gets more interesting when you have to chop stuff up and really try to create the textures that you want

Could that have been any more condescending? Look, this isn't the "DSF SuperMegaUltra-HighResolution Samplepack That's Like Working With Pre-Purchased Loops" contest.

Good songs come from YOU (as in, the people making the songs from whatever's at hand) - not from a handpicked bouquet of hooks and and 96k drum packs or whatever.

Granted, there's kind of a fuck-all attitude with some of the samples people throw in here - but that's part of the fun of making new sounds from something old. If you have the skills, you can make whatever sound you want...from whatever sound is in front of you.

The whole point of these contests - well used to be..

Is people make a pack of their favourite samples / plus some weird eclectic things and other people make beat of it..

I guess its just my faultt for being about when the first DSF sample contest was about and how fresh and fun it was and now its 13 down the line its pretty stale and boring and I am expecting to much out of people.

Well then, sorry it's not to your liking. We shouldn't be looking forward to your submission I'm guessing.

According to the previous pax, i tought the goal was the participants to show dem skillz whif i do agree and it was on purpose a shitee pack heh, well CHOP EEETTTTT

A contest always includes a likkle challenge ;)

It's no laze deal , we could have provided near commercial packs, but if you're a producer.. yowledge! I could do a dubstep tune out of a Joe Pesci track, cuz he makes music.. under Gambino nick if i remember well

Not in the least. G'wan and send it; a half-finished diamond trumps a whole piece of coal any day, right?
