I am not too sure about the whole "breakstep" thing. I think that term has been taken out of context and then re-applied to any dubstep that has a breakbeat sample in it. I mean if that is breakstep then I am pretty much breakstep as well as my label Savory Audio is huge supporter of it. I just did a whole show on dubstep.fm with tunes with amen breaks in it. If I am a breakstepper then so be it. I just call it dubstep.... or slowed down dnb
Talking live drumming with electronic music? I think it is kinda retarded. Percussion is one thing but to bring the whole kit into it. I have seen Macc and some of the others and it really seems like they are holding so much of what they can do back for the sake of dance music.

Mostly programming actually, Im pretty sure anyway.FSTZ wrote:What about DLX from SMOG ???
Ive used them before... mostly when doing a remix of a tune, lll either find the original break and rework it or use part of the instrumental.
I would guess the reason theres not more of them used would be the difficulty in separating them to get a nice reverb-y snare without 'verbing the kick too much.
When used right though, absolutely devestating

KJ Sawka made a loop library of quite a few beats. These beats slowed down / chopped up make good dubstep drums.

btw
isnt jazzsteppa live dubstep?
wrists, fingers, arms, ankles, back.... etc...the wrists do play a major part though.
everyone that does repetitive motion is susceptible to arthritis if they don't warm up properly and take care of themselves etc... basically his friend is just chatting bullshit

Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Succulent-C's EP should be next to drop....slightly delayed due to him moving house....Following that EPs from Paradigm X, Oyaarss, Full Spektrum, Hellfire Machina, Disrepute At THe Hands Of My Idol, Not In My Name (EP2), Threnody album, Hedfukkah....bare stuff in the pipelines.Paradigm X wrote:i have been called 'breakstep', EP coming out on threnodys label (some quality shit on there).
Succulent-C is my fave of these, but him, threnody, not in our name, blackmass plastics all at least do breaky stuff, all very good IMO.
Get succlent-c's frequency from the breakstep.net site, wicked tune.

As for breakstep http://www.breakstep.net. Breaks are certainly making more and more appearances at 140. I always find the breakier tunes hype the crowd more than the wobblers and it is the stuff i've always been feeling around this tempo.
So many names on it with breaks, Elemental, ID, loads of Rottun stuff....the list goes on.
