new sound card prob?

ez!

just got a new sound card went to use reason 4.0 and says sounds are turned off ,
but the sound card is workin fine how do i put the sounds back on ?

im not 100% sure
i haven't changed anything with it from my old sound card to the new 1

Have you correctly installed the drivers for your new soundcard? does it show as an available output in Reason (or windows for that matter)?

have installed them correctly yes,
works for liserning to music just not in reason
were it normally says creative sound blaster etc says no sounds

may need to manually add the busses in ableton like cubase

Is that a PCI sound card? I'd recommend a proper audio interface rather than using a PC sound card dude?

Seriously, are you joking? You might be the first person I have ever come across to downgrade their soundcard.


Reason won't be able to use it as it doesn't have a native ASIO driver. Get ASIO4ALL, that should at least get you up and running. Won't fix the heinous, grainy, collapsed, terrible, scabby sound quality of the SBLive5.1, but at least you'll be up and running.

Man.... I thought the days of posting about SB's were long gone!
