EGYPTRIXX is a producer from Toronto, Canada who is currently blowing minds around the world with his shape-shifting sonics and dead-on dance anthems. After a couple of releases, including a collabo with Chicago juke master DJ Slugo, Egyptrixx comes to Vicious Pop for his new collection, “ALL THAT JELLY”, a 12” jammed with instant classics including remixes by ghettotech legend DJ Godfather and up-and-coming UK producer L-VIS 1990. Wrapped in the new Vicious Pop 12” sleeve design by Baltimore’s DJ Dog Dick for a look that’s as disgusting as the bass lines inside! The release has already been getting support from Dre Skull, Jubilee, Drop the Lime, AC slater, Foamo, Bok Bok, Starkey, Brandon Sek and others across the world.

"Tracks like 'Use Magic To Kill Death' (forthcoming on Vicious Pop) still blow me away with their seasick, lilting take on vocal bassline, like some cyborg sound-image of a diva trapped in a pitch-bending hall of mirrors, over oozing slugs of 4x4 bass. It's an exhilarating right-but wrong tension that all of Egyptrixx' tracks share - a shifting balance between melodic and dissonant, rapturous and antisocial." - Alex Bok Bok, FACT magazine Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Now a Turntable Lab Exclusive! - GO BUY!

http://www.turntablelab.com/digital/405/1721/74642.html

With the tons of hyped up (but utterly mediocre) dance music that comes out these days, it's pretty hard to stand apart from the herd. Not the case with Toronto's Egyptrixx. His "All That Jelly" EP surprised and impressed me. It manages to skip around and merge styles while maintaining a high level of quality and creativity throughout - whether its the retro house vibes of the title track, the twisted diva bass house of "Use Magic To Kill Death," or the wicked dubstep style of "Reconnect." He also has an A-list of remixers including DJ Godfather on the ghettotech bounce of "The Forgiveness Rhythm," recent Mad Decent signee L-Vis 1990 on a hybrid take of "Use Magic...". Definitely be on the lookout for this kid. - TURNTABLE LAB REVIEW
