Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO Headphones

Does anyone have these? I am thinking of buying them for doing my mixdowns but was also wondering if they are practical enough for djing?
Also would anyone recommend any other headphones (except HD600/650s)

you don't want to use semi-open/open-backed headphones for DJing... for pretty obvious reasons

good for mixing/writing/etc.. but wouldn't use them in a noisy environment

never needed a 'quality' headphone for DJing anyways, just something to hear the beat for long enough to get things matched up. If you grab them, then grab something cheap to DJ with (dj phones always tend to get crunched one way or another too)

yea if you wanna give a pricepoint i can prolly help too
djing i swear by the sennheiser hd-25 which are bout 200$
those beyerdynamics are quality and nice and comfortable for long sessions
the hd series of sennheiser 500 and up is another recommendation but a bit price
a lil cheaper and round same price point akg k240 or k271

go demo em out at a local shop if they have em

But ya they r good and flat and you can recognize the subs (just I like my sub more)
so the 990's could only be better imo

for mixing you are best going with the sennheiser hd-25.

i have the 990s and they're excellent. loads of details, sound definition and clarity

well worth the money

edit : HD25s got heaps of bass freqs methinks, i think they're unbeatable for djing but for mixing down the 990's are more flat and detailed

I've got DT880's - blinding - best purchase i ever made - I live with two other producers so can't get into loudness wars!

plus i work best really late at night so need to keep it quiet.

can't fault them - improved my mixes about 100 fold... even lads i know who are much more experienced with mixing down have been impressed with them when they had a go...
