Characteristics of a UK Funky tune?

Post by adam_misst » Wed Jul 15, 2009 2:14 pm

I'm new to this whole Funky game and wanna give it a whirl...
Been making dubstep for a couple of years now but fancy trying something a little different...
What is the BPM? I've been mixing some funky into my dubstep sets and have had to slow the dubstep down a hell of a lot so im guessing its around 130-135bpm?
Any other key characteristics such as typical drum patterns would be greatly appreciated :)

drum patterns almost anything goes, as long as its got the rhythm. Bpm ranging from 125-135, most tunes tend to be just under 130

drums and pop sensibility, sometimes heavy on the cheese, always danceable
